The portable CIP cart is designed for cleaning and sterilization of the FV and BBT. The CIP unit has not complex construction, that is composed of two tanks(caustic tank and sterilization tank), one pump, one control cabinet and portable cart. A clean environment is the foundation of beer fermentation. So the usage of the CIP cart is very important and basal.
How to use 100 l CIP unit to clean a 1000 l fermenter?
1.Preparatory work at least one hour ahead of time.
Separately fill 100l clean city water into the caustic tank and the sterilization tank.
Then add 5kg food grade caustic soda into the caustic tank to make the concentration of caustic liquid up to 5%. And open the button of heating at the same time.
Then add about 100ml 35%hydrogen peroxide liquid into other tank, that mix the liquid concentration up to 300—400PPm.
2.Water washing for 15 mins.
a small amount of water but more washing times—washing for 3 times and every time is 5 mins, The remaining water in the tank drain out and then do the next step, keep the discharge port of fermenter open.
3.Caustic washing Drain out the remaining water in the fermenter, use the prepared hot caustic liquid cycle washing for 15~20 mins(when the concentration of the caustic become lower, more solid caustic need to be added).
When this step is finished, the caustic liquid need to be recycled.( Pay attention to the protection--It is too important to not wear protective equipment when operating, and avoid direct contact with caustic liquid.)
4.Washing water. Clean city water washing for 15 mins after all the caustic drain out, it’s the same as the second step.
5.H2O2(Hydrogen Peroxide Liquid) washing Drain out the remaining water in the fermenter, then take the prepared H2O2 liquid cycle washing for 15~20 mins. After finish this step, please close all the valve of the fermenter.
Attention A.Please check the electric power and positive inversion of pump motor before operating the CIP unit.
B.Prevent the dry burning of electrical element during the heating caustic liquid, and make sure water level is always higher than heating element.
C.Make sure the beer rotating valve is unclosed.
D.It’s not allowed that use hot water, hypochlorous acid, Chlorine and anything with chloridion to washing fermenter.
